Busy North Sevier Soccer Game Schedule
The Wolves Soccer Team has had a very busy game schedule the last two weeks and managed to work in a few wins.
Tuesday March 22 they traveled south to play against Diamond Ranch with a game that resulted in a 2 to 1 win in overtime. Senior Guy Huntsman scored one of the goals and Junior Randy Elmer sent a penalty shot in during the double overtime play.
The next game was on Thursday March 24 in South Sevier. The first half was a tight game with both teams allowing no goals, but within two minutes of the second half South Sevier was able to sneak two past the Wolves giving them a 2-0 lead. Fifteen minutes later Junior Arturo Ledezma sent a fast ball in from near half field to score one for the Wolves. But the Rams butted another one through with about 10 minutes left in the game leaving the score a 3-1 loss for the Wolves.
Monday March 28th found the Wolves prowling around the field in undefeated Juab territory. The game was a hard fought battle and even though the Wolves lost, Junior Ayden Crane scored a goal and Senior Keaton Peterson scored another one leaving the final score 7 to 2.
Tuesday March 29th Beaver met with the Wolves on the Wolves’ home field and put a quick start to the game scoring a goal within the first minute of play. Wolves were able to hold them for the next 30 minutes, but then Beaver sent in another goal and 8 minutes later one more, to end the half in a 3-0 lead. Twenty minutes into the second half Beaver sent another goal through and another one 20 minutes later. Just before the final whistle Arturo Ledezma sent a ball up field to Senior Keaton Peterson who was able to score a goal for the Wolves ending the game at a 5 – 1 loss.
Thursday March 31 found the Wolves on their home field again playing San Juan. Within the first minute of play Guy Huntsman got a ball through after the goalie dropped it. Three minutes later Randy Elmer sent a ball in and over the head of the goalie for a second goal. Thirty five minutes later Keaton Peterson scored on a penalty shot. Two minutes before the end of the half Junior Seth Richins sent a good pass up and over to Guy Huntsman who rolled it in leaving the half time score at 4 – 0 in favor of the Wolves.
Within 15 minutes of the start of the second half Ayden Crane sent a pass up to Randy Elmer who sent it in high for the 5th goal of the game. Junior Shay Scott sent the 6th goal of the game in 7 minutes later. However, San Juan retaliated and was able to get 2 goals in before the final whistle leaving the score at a 6 -2 win for the Wolves.
Games this week will be Tuesday April 5 at North Sevier against Parowan, Thursday April 7 against San Juan, but in San Juan this time, and Friday April 8 against Millard in Millard and then a few days off for spring break. After spring break Diamond Ranch on Tuesday April 19 and South Sevier on Thursday April 21 both on the Wolves’ field. Friday April 22 the Wolves will travel to Beaver and the last game of the season will be Gunnison at North Sevier on Tuesday April 26.
