North Sevier Wolves beat the Duchesne Eagles 13-11 on Friday coming off a tough loss to non-region ALA on Monday, March 28.

“We started the week with a tough loss at American Leadership Academy 10-6. They are a good 3A team this year and I thought the boys battled hard. We just fell short at the end,” said Coach Josh Robinson.

ALA started strong with three runs in the first inning, but it was their fourth quarter 4 runs that sealed the ALA 10-6 win.  Deagan Brazell hit 2 doubles for the Wolves with Tayler Rasmussen and Ryker Frischknecht also a double, and Rasmussen, Breken Mason, Frischknecht, and Kyson Bosshardt each earned an RBI.  In addition, Kagan Beckstead also had a really good outing on the mound.

“On Friday we traveled to Duchesne for our second region game of the season. Duchesne is a really good team that was ranked 4th when the first RPI rankings dropped on Friday. It was a crazy game with a lot of ups and downs, but the boys battled all 7 innings and came out with the win 13-11,” said Robinson.

Breken Mason led the way on the mound striking out 8 Duchesne batters, Kyson Bosshardt then came in and got them out of a jam in the sixth inning, and Tayler Rasmussen came in for the save in the 7th and shut the Eagles down. The Wolves had 15 hits as a team including 2 hits each for Tayler Rasmussen, Tyler Foote, Breken Mason, Deagan Brazell, and Ryker Frischknecht. One of Deagan’s hits was a big home run and Kyson Bosshardt led the way at the plate with 3 hits.

“We are excited for this very busy week ahead of us,” said Robinson. “We start with a Varsity Double Header against Monticello on Tuesday. First game will start at 2pm and the second will start right after. We then will be hosting our annual dinner/auction on Thursday at the Rec Center. Doors open at 5:30, you can purchase tickets there or from any NS Baseball player. We conclude the week with a home game against Duchesne.”
