Amy Myers has been hired by Sevier County as the tourism/special events director and dove right in to her first event, the Miss Sevier County pageant, which was held this past weekend.
Originally from Delta, Myers has lived in Richfield for the past 26 years and in addition to working with the school district, she has worked for the County in Events and Tourism Department, and most recently served as the Richfield Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director.
“I have had the opportunity to meet and work with many individuals and businesses throughout the County. I am looking forward to meeting more people and helping the County grow while in this new position,” she said.
Myers has hit the ground running and she has several upcoming events. She has attended committee meetings for the upcoming Eyes to the Sky Balloon festival and is excited to be a part of the “excellent committee”.
“I was impressed with Eyes to the Sky festival committe, and it appears there are some great activities organized,” she said. “Carol Loman, Salina Chamber President, and Salina City have an amazing weekend in the works we can all look forward to!”
Myers is also actively coordinating events such as the county fair, which is scheduled for August 8-13, then she’ll jump right into the Rooster Ride on August 20, and the Rocky Mountain Jamboree on September 19-24.
