The North Sevier Softball team began its dive into the 2A Softball State Championship games at a fumbling start. The team played two teams on Saturday, May 2nd, in Duchesne on the Eagles’ fields; the first against Gunnison Valley and the second versus North Summit. In their first game against the Bulldogs, the Wolves were crushed. The opposing pitcher was able to collect 11 strikeouts. The team itself scored 12 runs while only letting North Sevier slide in 2. This loss in the first round pushed the Wolves into the consolation bracket.

In the following game, the Wolves were able to push back and stay in the State Tournament. Against the North Summit Braves, North Sevier as a team played smart and fast to defeat their opponents. On the mound, Tesslee Quarnberg threw 5 strikeouts throughout the game. In addition, Kadee Bosshardt went 2 for 4 with two home runs and six RBIs. By the end of the 7th inning, the Wolves came out on top 15-11 against the Braves.

This week, the team will continue to fight for their spot in the State Tournament. Their next opponent will either be San Juan or South Summit after these two teams face each other on the field. These next group of play-off games will be on Thursday and Friday, the 7th and 8th of May, at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex.
