Track

North Sevier Track and Field participated in the Desert Hills Invitational in St. George on Saturday and with many athletes medaling and most hitting personal best scores.

              To start the day the girls sprint medley team placed first and the boys’ team took second.  Senior Avery Smith took 12^th in the 100m hurdles and Cale Torgerson 29^th. In the boys 100m hurdles Senior Tate Goble placed 19^th and sophomore Jacob Johnson 14^th.  Freshman Swayzee Mason took 14^th in the 100m and Kamden Saling 38^th for the boys. Freshman Trey Torgerson took 5^th in the 400m and Laynee Okerlund 39^th with Ethan Fielding 14^th for the boys 400m and Bayden Hallows 61^st. 

              Avery Smith placed 11^th and Cale Torgerson 12^th in the 300m hurdles with Rilee Mason 30^th with Tate Goble 11^th and Jacob Johnson 25^th for the boys.  North Sevier’s 4×100 team took 5^th and the boys 8^th.  Brooklin Goble placed 12^th in the 800m and Judith Lauret 30^th, with Coy Shaw 12^th and Ayden Crane 42^nd for the boys.

              Swayzee Mason placed 18^th in the 200m with a 28.86 time and Ethan Fielding 14^th at 24.10 and Keaton Rosquist at 60^th and Dean Anderson 61st.  Ciarra Anderson placed 19^th overall in the seeded 1600m and Brooklin Goble 8^th in the open 1600m with Judith Lauret 18^th.  Braxton Macart placed 30^th in the boys 1600m and Ayden Crane 35^th.       North Sevier’s girls 4×4 team placed 5^th and the boys team 4^th.

              In the field events, freshman Cale Torgerson placed 8^th in the high jump with Trey Torgerson 13^th and Avery Smith 19^th.  For the boys Kamden Saling placed 38^th and Keaton Rosquist 50^th. In Discus Alli Mason took 5^th with a 27.66m throw and Brooklin Goble 13^th with 25.13m.  In Javelin Cauy Williams placed 8^th with a 39.42 throw and Jesse Aitken 25^th with 35.10m. Junior Blaine Anderson placed 4^th with a 13.42m throw in the shot put and Cauy Williams 16th with 11.40m and Clayton Duckworth 26^th with 10.41m.

              Jacob Johnson placed 7^th in the high jump with a 5’-08” jump and Keaton Rosquist 17^th with 5’-04”.  In the girls long jump freshman Trey Torgerson placed 8^th with a 15’01” jump and in the boys discus Blaine Anderson took 9^th,  Cauy Williams 19^th, and Clayton Duckworth 21^st.

              Junior Alli Mason placed 15^th in the girl’s javelin with Brooklin Goble 17^th and in the shot put Mason placed 5^th and sophomore Sydney Bosh 24^th.

              Overall, the team placed 8^th behind 5A-6A schools but were the top 2A school there. This week the team will split with half traveling to St. George’s
