The softball team had two big wins over Piute this week with a 15-14 win at home on Tuesday and a 21-11 win on the road Thursday.

“We’re very proud of the energy and fight our girls showed this week,” said Coach Kalie Frischknecht. “The first game they came back in the 7th inning with a walk off win, and Thursday they brought the same intensity from the start to jump up on top.  We are still working on tightening up our defense.”

In Tuesday’s win the Lady Wolves only scored one run in the first inning and Piute was up 7 in the fifth, but a huge 10 run 7th inning gave them the 15-14 winning.  Hitting doubles for North Sevier were Jacy Crane, Kamryn Pierce, Laynee Nielsen, Sydnie Henrie, Paisley Roberts, and Swayzee Mason.  Pierce and Crane also had 2 RBIs. Addie Quarnberg hit a triple for the team and Kendyl Brazell a home run.  Swayzee Mason and Drew Sedgwick each had 2 stolen bases and Jacy Crane 1.  Crane pitched 4 innings with Pierce 2 and Chloe Malmgren 1.

Thursday the Lady Wolves led with 14 points to Piute’s 2 by the end of the second inning and though the Thunderbirds scored 8 in the third, North Sevier took the 21-11 victory.  Syd Henrie hit a home run and Addie Quarnberg a double, with Henrie getting 5 RBI’s, Laynee Nielsen and Kenzie Brown each 2, and Paisley Roberts, Addie Quarnberg, Swayzee Mason and Jacey Crane each one.

The team is off this week for spring break and will host Gunnison Tuesday, April 19th at 3:30 and Milford on Wednesday, April 20th.
