Richard Christiansen
Mayfield, Utah

Richard Voorhees Christiansen, loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend passed away unexpectedly at his home February 1, 2024. Richard was born February 11, 1957 to Stanley and Valine Christiansen in Ogden. He was the youngest of 4 boys.
Richard graduated from Gunnison Valley High School in 1975. During his high school years, he attended auto mechanics at Snow College. It was cruising the streets of Manti that he met the love of his life Sandra Irwin. They were married in Salt Lake City on March 12, 1977. Together they bought their forever home in Mayfield, had four children, and built a beautiful life.
Richard was talented at many things, he worked drywall, road construction, coal mining, and truck driving. The man knew the value of hard work and did all he could to instill this in his family.
Richard was an avid outdoorsman. He loved to be on the mountain hunting, fishing, and enjoying the scenery. Some of his favorite ways to enjoy the outdoors were riding horses, jeeping and adventures in the side by side. He always said you should live life to the fullest.
Richard knew and was loved by so many. He had a big heart and never turned anyone away. He loved a good joke and was always telling one. When he wasn’t telling jokes you could find him reciting lyrics or humming to some of his favorite music. If there were a guitar or piano nearby, he would play a quick tune.
Richard is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Sandra, Mayfield; children: Jennifer (Bart) Mortensen, Centerfield; Jason (Tiffany) Christiansen, Ephriam; Cash Christiansen,  Mayfield; Ciera (Cole) Hermansen, Centerfield; his 9 grandchildren; one soon to come great- grandchild; and his brothers: Kenneth, Fred, and Robert.
