Sherry was born in Richfield on December 30, 1938 to Lynn L. and Ruth Brewer  Peterson.  She was the youngest of three daughters.  Sherry’s father died when she was very young.  Her mother married Bud Miller who raised Sherry and her sisters as his own.
Sherry spent her childhood in Richfield.  As the baby of the family she was full of energy and spunk.  Although she was small, she was mighty!  Sherry graduated from Richfield High School with the class of 1957   After graduation Sherry attended Darrell’s College of Beauty where she earned a license in Cosmetology.  Sherry was a natural at doing hair and enjoyed her time spent with clients.
In the early ‘60’s Sherry met Courtney Ewles of Salina, at the Richfield Bowling Alley which was the popular teenage hangout.  They were married on July 6, 1962, in Richfield.   Their marriage was solemnized in the Manti Temple on June 6, 1964.  Their union was blessed with two sons, Kirtley Blaine and Kasey Bud Ewles.
Courtney and Sherry’s life was drastically changed after the birth of their sons.  Both of their boys were diagnosed with hemophilia.  Sherry was a wonderful mother to her boys, but she soon became their full time nurse, protector and advocate.  Both of her boys preceded her in death.  Kasey passed away in 1990 and Kirtley in 1992.
Sherry was active in the community.  She was a member of the Jaycettes and a 4-H instructor. She earned her CNA license and worked at the Richfield Hospital. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Family and friends were very important to Sherry.  She loved a good party and spent many hours entertaining her boys.  The 4th of July and Christmas were the highlight of her year.
