Region Track

Region 16 Championships we’re held in Salina at North Sevier High School and the Wolves competed well with the boys team taking second and the girls third.

“It was one for the books,” said Coach Eric Mason. “These athletes stepped up and competed in really windy conditions. Blaine Anderson broke his own school record in shot put at 47-09, and the boys 4×400 relay team (Kamden Saling, Ethan Fielding, Keaton Hallows, and Greyson Bennett) came down to a matter of inches against North Summit at the finish line. They placed second overall. It was definitely a fun day against really good teams with 33 of our athletes setting new personal records.”

Blaine Anderson also placed 2nd in the discus. Keaton Hallows was named Region Champion in the 1600M run with a 4:51 time and Alli Mason placed first in both the shot put (35-11.50) and discus (95-08.50).  She also placed second in the javlin with a 100’ throw.

Trey Torgerson was named Region Champ in the 400m with a 1:01.34 time and placed fourth in the long jump. Cauy Williams placed first in the javelin with a 133-04.50 throw and placed fourth in the high jump, sixth in the shot, and 7th in the discus.

Cale Torgerson was named Region Champ in the high jump with a 5-00 jump and placed 5th in the 200m.  Tate Goble placed second in the 110m hurdles and the 300m hurdles and 5th in the 800m.

Ethan Fielding placed third in region in the 400m with a 52.85 time and Karly McCoy took 3rd in the 1600m with a 6:03.94 time. She also placed 5th in the 3200m.  Jacob Johnson placed 3rd in the 110m hurdles, 3rd in the high jump, and 7th in the 300m hurdles.

Greyson Bennett took 4th in both the 400m and the long jump and Avery Smith 4th in the 100m hurdles.  Jesse Aitkens placed 6th in the 300m hurdles and Keaton Rosquist 6th in the long jump. Brooklin Goble placed 5th in the discus and 7th in the javlin with Coy Shaw 7th in the 800m and Kamden Saling 8th in the 100m.  Tiphaine Marty took 8th in the region in discus.

“We are taking 28 kids to state this coming Friday,” said Coach Mason. “We should compete very well. These kids have worked hard all season and it will be fun to see how they finish! Go Wolves!”
