BW: Warrior Classic
The North Sevier Boys wrestling wrapped up their December duels by wrestling on Tuesday, the 16th, against Altamont at a home. Unfortunately, the Wolves lost overall, but a few wrestlers won individually. At 138 lbs, Nash Nielson won by fall 5:09 against Asa Fisher. Ryker Williams also secured a pin 1:25 against Tayzen Walker in the 150 lbs. division. Wrestling at 215 lbs., Jacob Brown won by tech-fall 4:40 against Jhett Miles.
Later during that week, on Friday and Saturday, the 19th and 20th, the Varsity team competed in the Warrior Classic 2025 at Central High, Grand Junction, CO. While no athlete successfully placed in their brackets, Nash Nielson, Ryker Williams, and Jacob Brown wrestled in this tournament. Nash, 138, wrestled 4-2; Ryker, 150, wrestled 2-2; and Jacob, 215, wrestled 1-2.
At the same time, the JV team also wrestled in Grand Junction, CO, in the Fruita Monument JV Invite. Tate Torgerson wrestled in the 126 lb. division and ended placing 3rd in his bracket, wrestling 5-1. Other athletes who wrestled in this tournament: Hunter Baker, 106, wrestled 1-2; Jaxson Beach, 126, wrestled 0-2; Chase Vigil, 132, wrestled 0-2; Conrad James, 150, wrestled 0-2; Trinndn Simpson, 190, wrestled 1-2; and Pierce Mickelsen, 285, wrestled 1-2.
To start off 2026, the North Sevier Wolves wrestled on January 2nd and 3rd at South Sevier for the 2A Duels. A couple of their top wrestlers from this weekend are as follows: Nash Nielson, 132 lbs., 10-0 and Ryker Williams, 150 lbs, 6-4. Others who wrestled include Hunter Baker, Jaxson Beach, Conrad James, Jacob Brown, and Pierce Mickelsen.
The Wolves will wrestle again on the 6th at Home against Emery, the 7th at Manti, the 8th at Carbon, and to end this week off, they’ll wrestle at the Tournament of Champions in Vernal on the 9th and 10th.
GW: Winter Classic
The North Sevier Girls Wrestlers started the second half of the season in 2026 at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield for the Winter Classic. The tournament began on Friday, January 2nd, and concluded the next day on the 3rd. The only girl who placed on Saturday was Linzy Perfect in the 115 lb. division, placing 4th in her bracket. The following wrestlers also competed last weekend: Daysha Bagley, Kaitlynn Prisbrey, Treana Trujillo, Kiplynn McCourt, and Ember Beal. Unfortunately, on Friday, Treana was injured during one of her matches, resulting in her collar-bone breaking and putting her out the rest of the season.
This week, the Wolves will wrestle against ALA and Delta for a duel at Delta High on Wednesday, the 7th. They will wrestle again on Friday at Desert Hills and Saturday at Cedar City High.
GB:
The North Sevier Girls Basketball team played on Thursday, December 18th against the Delta Rabbits. Despite all attempts, North Sevier was unsuccessful at securing the win. The final score resulted in 70-35 with the Wolves at a loss. Although, aside from their loss, Megan Mecham led the team in points, having scored 8 points, with AnnaLyne James coming in right behind her with 7, and Zoey Rhees and Oaklee Carter not far behind, both at 6 points.
On December 30th, the girls traveled to Enterprise to match up against the other Wolves. Unfortunately, North Sevier fell behind in every quarter. On the bright side, Megan Mecham was the top scorer for the NS Wolves, contributing 12 total points, two of those shots being 3-pointers. AnnaLyne James was also successful in scoring a 3-pointer, along with other shots, totaling 9 points. The final score resulted in 37-64.
These girls also played again on Saturday, January 3rd against Draper APA for a Home game, but yet again, the Wolves were not victorious. The resulting score here was 43-62.
Despite the Wolves’ challenging week, they will play again on January 6th at South Summit, the 8th at Home versus Duchesne, and to end the week, the 13th at Millard.
BB:
The North Sevier Boys Basketball team had a low week that took place before the Christmas break. On Wednesday, December 17th, the Wolves lost to the Manti Templars at a Home game. The final score resulted as 75-58 with North Sevier at a loss. Despite their defeat, Kade Johnson led the team in points, reaching a total of 18 points, with Brody Bulloch not too far behind with 13 points.
The Wolves again were unsuccessful at securing their victory on Friday, December 19th, at Home against the Valley Buffalos. Valley took North Sevier with a final score of 61-47. Despite yet another loss to end the week, their leading scorer was again Kade Johnson who led with 14 points. Following behind him in points was Brody Bulloch and Cynch Wanlass, who both shot 8 points.
The team played again on December 30th against the North Sanpete Hawks at Home. This game was intense, having gone into overtime. Throughout the game, Brody Bulloch was the Wolves’ top scorer, contributing 26 points. At the end of the fourth quarter, both teams were tied at 52, so they were forced into overtime. But despite all attempts, the game was lost to the Hawks with a final score of 61-64.
The Wolves played another game on Saturday, January 3rd, against Draper APA at Home. Just as the previous game, the Wolves were unsuccessful in taking the win. Kade Johnson led the team in points, though, scoring 18 total points. This contributed to the final score of 49-65. The North Sevier Wolves Basketball team will play again on January 7th against South Summit for another Home game, the 9th at Duchesne, and to end this week, the 13th at Home versus Rowland Hall.
