The Maverik located at 195 W. Main, Salina, aka Maverik 247, will close on May 19, 2022 permanently.
“We decided to close this location because of the exorbitant costs to bring it up to our Maverik standards for new stores, as well as the opening of our new location in Salina on November 17, 2020,” said Michelle Monson, Maverik’s Communication Director. “The new store is four minutes driving distance from the previous location, located right off the freeway at 260 East Industrial Park Drive, Salina, and our customers can see the same friendly faces of the Maverik on Main at one of the other three nearby locations in Salina, Gunnison, and Richfield.”
She said all employees will retain their jobs in other locations, and that employee retention wasn’t the issue. It was mostly the costs of bringing the inside and outside of the store up to Maverik standards for new store formats. The team itself is amazing and has done very well taking care of customers. Maverik will pull the tanks out of the ground and equipment out of the store but for now, they will retain the property until further notice.
“The new Salina store features Maverik’s vibrant “Adventure’s First Stop” branding as showcased in our newest stores with panoramic landscape photos of the outdoors in Utah and topographic maps on the store’s walls, adventure imagery and video content on the store’s TVs and gas pumps, and televisions in the fountain dispensers,” said Monson. “It also features an RV dump, truck and RV lanes, picnic area, a full line-up of fresh made-to-order food offerings, and self-checkout registers and Maverik’s premium BonFire food available made-to-order features fan favorites like burritos, tacos, quesadillas, sandwiches, pizzas, toasted subs, salads, and more.”
In addition, the new store showcases Maverik’s newest “Bean to Cup” coffee program featuring coffee blends from around the world, accompanied by a delicious collection of fresh-made pastries. It is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week with no closed days and customers can save on every gallon of gas, earn free stuff, and get great deals at every Maverik with an Adventure Card.
