Cheerleaders Second at State

North Sevier Cheerleaders placed Second in the State Cheer Finals held on Friday at Utah Valley University. This is the fourth consecutive year that North Sevier Cheer has been the State runner up. Cheer was sanctioned four years ago as an official sport in the  Utah High School Activities Association.

“Our goal was a state trophy, and we accomplished just that,” said Coach Dani Hallows. “This team is something special. The girls all love each other and that is something that you just can’t create as a coach. Part of the reason is that we have seven incredible seniors who are not just stellar athletes, but they are also great examples and leaders to the team. They lead the school as cheerleaders, are involved in clubs and many extracurricular activities, are outstanding students, but most importantly they are just really great people. It’ll be exciting to watch them as they step out into the world and make a difference wherever they go.”

Seniors Paisley Hallows, Cheyenne Johnson and Dalli Wasden made the All-State Cheer Team. Paisley Hallows, Boston Mason and Cheyenne Johnson made the Academic All-State Team.

Abbi Roberts competed at the state jump off competition and placed third overall.

Cheerleaders are coached by Dani Hallows and Penni Wasden.
