North Sevier baseball had two good wins against North Summit on Tuesday, April 12. It was a crazy day with the storm that came in and left a couple inches of snow on the North Sevier field. Luckily the coaches in Richfield allowed the Wolves to come over and play on their field in order to get the games in.

“We won a hard-fought game 9 to 8 in the first game,” said Coach Josh Robinson. “Tayler Rasmussen and Kagan Beckstead had the pitching duties and they threw really well combining for 15 strikeouts.”

At the plate Breken Mason hit a home run, Tayler Rasmussen hit a triple, and Tyler Foote and Kannin Boswell each had a double. The game was decided in the last inning when Kyson Bosshardt laid down a sacrifice bunt that scored Kannin Boswell for the walk off win. In the second game the Wolves’ bats heated up and were able to win 21-1. Breken Mason and Hunter Hansen combined to throw a no hitter on the mound. At the plate Breken Mason and Tayler Rasmussen each hit a double and Reilly Burr hit a triple.

“It was great to get two wins over Spring Break to propel us into our final two weeks of the region schedule,” said Robinson. “This week we head to San Juan on Tuesday for two big region games and then host South Sevier on Friday in another big test. We’d also like to thank the community for coming out last Thursday to our Baseball Fundraiser Banquet. It was a huge success, and we couldn’t have done it without all the support from our community, parents, players, and coaches.”
