North Sevier baseball held a nine-team tournament over the weekend, bringing a spring boost to the economy with nine teams spread between North Sevier, Richfield, and South Sevier’s ball fields Friday and Saturday.
“Our tournament went very well this weekend.,” said Coach Josh Robinson. “We had 9 teams spread out over North Sevier, Richfield, and South Sevier’s ball fields. We feel like it is a great thing for our community and plan on continuing to bring more teams each year.”
The Wolves played four games and went 2-2. Their first game on Friday North Sevier lost to South Summit 6-5, Breken Mason hit a double and Deagan Brazell had 2 RBI’s. They then beat Ogden 6-3 with Kagan Beckstead and Kyson Bosshardt combining pitching duties for the win. Deagan Brazell, Breken Mason, Kannin Boswell, and Reilly Burr all hit doubles for the Wolves.
On Saturday morning North Sevier lost to Delta 6-5 with Kannin Boswell hitting a double at the plate. They closed out their tournament with a big win 17-7 over Millard. Kannin Boswell and Mace Sorenson combined pitching duties for the win. At the plate Tyler Foote was 3 for 3 with 3 RBI’s, Deagan Brazell had 2 hits and 4 RBI’s, Ryker Frischknecht went 2-2 with 4 RBI’s and a home run, and Kannin Boswell hit a triple.
“All in all, it was a great weekend,” said Robinson. “We learned a lot about our team, and are excited to build on our progress and propel us into the rest of the season. We go to Milford on Tuesday and play our first region game at Gunnison on Friday. Both teams will be tough, but we are excited for the challenge.”
