2A Preview

North Sevier basketball traveled to Bryce Valley on Tuesday, November 30 then participated in the 2A Classic at the Sevier Valley Center in Richfield, playing Carbon on Friday and Enterprise on Saturday.

              In Bryce Valley, the Mustangs were on top at the end of the first quarter 12-10 and the game continued close with a 26-25 half time score in Bryce Valley’s favor.  A low scoring two-point third quarter for the Wolves put them permanently behind and they took the loss 39-51.

              Senior Ethan Fielding led in scoring with 24 points, Cauy Williams and Ryker Frischknecht each had 4, Jacob Johnson 3 and Tate Goble and Kyson Bosshardt each 2.

              Friday night’s game saw the Carbon Dinos ahead 13-10 at the end of the first and held a commanding 33-18 lead at the half.  Final score was 69-36 for Carbon.

              Leading scorer Friday night was Senior Cauy Williams with 8, Frischknecht 8, Fielding and Kyson Bosshardt each 6, Keaton Hallows 3 and Greyson Bennett 3.

              The Enterprise Wolves and North Sevier Wolves were matched in Saturday night’s game at the close of the 2A Preview with North Sevier in the lead 12-10 at the end of the first.  Enterprise held North Sevier to just 6 points in the second and third quarters, and though they scored 18 in the fourth, Enterprise took the 60-42 victory.

              Fielding led in scoring with 21 points with 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal, Hallows chalked up 5 with 1 rebound, 2 assists and 2 steals, and Randy Elmer added 5 points with 1 rebound and 3 assists. Cauy Williams scored 4 with 1 rebound and 3 assists, Frischknecht secured 4 points, 3 rebounds and 2 steals, and Bosshardt got 3 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists.

              “We saw a lot of good things this weekend that I feel we can build upon fir this week,” said Coach Dakota Shepherd. “We play a solid Beaver team on Wednesday, and we will have to stay disciplined and be sure we play as a team.”

              This week the team will travel to Beaver on Wednesday, December 8 then host Freedom Prep Academy on Friday December 10.
