North Sevier Wolves basketball began region play 1-1 on the road, losing to Millard on Wednesday then beating North Summit Friday night.
The Eagles jumped out to a 15-10 lead in the first quarter and a big 20 point second quarter gave them the 35-22 lead at the half over the Wolves. North Sevier was held to just 5 points in the fourth quarter, giving Millard the win 75-42.
Ethan Fielding led the way in scoring with 19, Junior Keaton Hallows 10, Kyson Bosshardt 5 and both Keaton Rosquist and Ryker Frischknecht 4.
Friday night’s game in North Summit started out similarly as the Wolves got down 7-12 at the end of the first but fought hard and was only down 23-24 at the half. Coming out of the locker room North Sevier pulled ahead by 15 points, and by keeping the gap throughout the remainder of the game beat the Braves 58-45.
Fielding led in scoring with 20, Hallows 10, Tate Goble 9. Sophomore Greyson Bennett 7, Rosquist 5, Cauy Williams 4 and Frischknecht 3.
This week the team plan on beating the Bulldogs in Gunnison Wednesday, January 19 then host the Braves on Wednesday, January 28 and travel to Duchesne on Friday, January 28.
