The Wolves’ football team dominated on the line of scrimmage as they went 3-0 on the season with a 20-0 victory over the North Summit Braves Friday night in Coleville.
“I’m proud of our team,” said Coach Wyatt Mason. “They have bought into our program, and it shows on the field. A lot of these players have put in so much work behind the scenes and it’s paying dividends for them.”
QB Ryker Frischknecht completed 4/8 for 42 yards and rushing Junior Kannin Boswell led with 92 yards. Breken Mason had 69, Nathan Snyder 45, Frischknecht 18, Tyler Foote 16, Keaton Peterson 5, and Slade Mickelsen 4. Receiving Bowsell had 17 yards, Mason 16 and Cauy Williams 11. Total yards for North Sevier was 291.
Defensively for North Sevier Senior Nathan Snyder had 10 tackles with Drexton Olsen 9, Aaron Gale 7, Blaine Anderson 6, Breken Mason, Tyler Foote, and Kannin Boswell each 4, and Clayton Duckworth, Hunter Hansen, and Brogan Malmgren each 3, Kyson Bosshardt and Frischknecht each 2 and Deagan Brazell, Kayden Johnson, and Guy Huntsman each 1. Snyder and Gale both earned a sack and Brazell and Foote shared credit for one.
Boswell earned 6 points for the Wolves, Peterson 2, and Snyder 12.
“I’m proud of our coaches as well, and thankful for the time they put into our program,” said Mason. “Riley Tidlund, our defensive coordinator, spends hours preparing every week, along with our other assistant coaches to stop our opponents and they did great holding a good North Summit team to 0 points. A lot of people don’t realize how much time our coaches put in. It is another full-time job, and they are volunteering their time. I’m very grateful to have them all helping me build our program! I’m thankful for their families who allow them to be away to coach these young men! We have a very big and talented opponent next week vs Layton Christian Academy. We can’t wait to prepare and hopefully bring home another win! Thank you to all our fans who traveled or supported us by listening on the radio or TV!”
