Western Clay Hosts Inaugural Fun Run in Centennial Celebration

As part of its centennial celebration, Western Clay hosted its inaugural Fun Run on Saturday, July 5, in conjunction with North Sevier’s Independence Day festivities. The event drew a strong turnout, welcoming runners of all ages and abilities—all of whom enjoyed a positive and spirited experience.

Before the race began, Western Clay President Brad Boyter addressed participants, expressing gratitude for the company’s deep roots in the Aurora area. He noted that some of the very roads included in the race route were once used by wagon pulled trailers hauling clay from the mountains to the plant—highlighting the rich history of the business and its connection to the local landscape.

Top finishers included Kaylee Bashaw, who took first place in the adult women’s division, and Brennan Skelly and Cruze Hallows, who earned top spots for the adult men. Landon Ortega was the first child to cross the finish line.

Event organizers were pleased with the enthusiastic participation and expressed their appreciation for the community’s support. Grateful to have served North Sevier for 100 years, Western Clay looks forward to making the Fun Run an annual tradition.
