The Kanab Cowgirls came to town Tuesday, August 17 for a preseason volleyball match and they traveled to Emery on Wednesday, August 18.  Though the Lady Wolves were unable to convert their hard work into wins, Coach Sloane Robinson is proud of the players and looking forward to more good plays.

“We are continuing to get better with each game, which has us excited!” she said. “We were very close in two of the sets and won one, so we just need to get to where we can start and finish games strong.”

Kanab took the win in three on the Lady Wolves’ home court, 25-18, 25-17, and 25-15 with Ali Mason getting 6 kills, Gracee Johnson 5, Cale Torgerson 2 and Kamryn Pierce, Trey Torgerson, Swayzee Mason, Kendyl Brazell and Brooklyn Butler each getting one. Both freshmen Trey Torgerson and Swayzee Mason were 100% on their serves.  The Torgerson twins led in digs with Cale getting 9 and Trey 8.

In Emery the Lady Wolves lost the first set 17-25 then won the next 26-24.  They lost 16-25 and 18-25 to finish the match.

Senior Gracee Johnson led in kills with 11, Cale Torgerson had 9, Alli Mason 6 and Kamryn Pierce 3. Brooklyn Butler, Alli Mason, and Kamryn Pierce were 100% in serving.  Johnson led in digs with 12 and Butler had 11.
