RESOLUTION R252-2026

A RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE CULINARY WATER SYSTEM OF SALINA CITY AFFECTING WATER RATES.

Whereas, the City of Salina operates a culinary water system and under its Ordinances, the City by Resolution may provide from time to time changes in water rates and make other regulations concerning the water system;

SECTION 1. SERVICE OR USER FEE.  As of January 28, 2026, the water user rates for water service and water use within Salina City Limits are increased to:

Residential Users:

$36.00 per month for 0 to 10,000 gallons

$2.00 for each 1,000 gallons in excess of 10,000 gallons

Agriculture Users:

$48.80 per month for 0 to 10,000 gallons

$2.00 for each 1,000 gallons in excess of 10,000 gallons

Light Commercial Users:                                

$48.80 per month for 0 to 10,000 gallons

$2.00 for each 1,000 gallons in excess of 10,000 gallons

Medium Commercial Users:

$59.60 per month for 0 to 17,000 gallons

$2.00 for each 1,000 gallons in excess of 17,000 gallons

Heavy Commercial Users:

$120.80 per month for 0 to 32,000 gallons

$2.00 for each 1,000 gallons in excess of 32,000 gallons

SECTION 2. OUTSIDE CITY LIMIT SERVICE OR USER FEE. As of January 28, 2026, the water user rates for water service and water use outside Salina City Limits are increased to 1.4 times the corresponding city limit rates. 

SECTION 3. EFFECTIVE DATE.  This Resolution shall take effect as of January 28, 2026 as to all fees, rates and usage.

SECTION 4. PUBLICATION.  This Resolution shall be published one (1) time in the Salina Sun but shall take effect January 28, 2026, irrespective of the date of publication.

RESOLUTION R253-2026

RESOLUTION RELATING TO THE PRESSURIZED IRRIGATION SYSTEM USAGE RATES OF SALINA CITY.

Whereas, the City of Salina operates a pressurized irrigation system and under its Ordinances, the City by Resolution may provide from time to time changes in usage rates and make other regulations concerning the water system;

Now Therefore, It is hereby resolved by the Mayor and City Council of Salina City, as follows:

Whereas, the Salina City Council has determined the Pressurized Irrigation System needs more constant upgrades and repairs as the system ages.  Based upon the current financial status of the Salina City Pressurized Irrigation Enterprise Fund, Salina City Council has determined that the pressurized irrigation rates will be increased.

Whereas, the Salina City pressurized irrigation rates were $17.00 per month for a parcel up to 0.25 of an acre plus $0.75 per each additional 0.25 of an acre or fraction thereof, per Resolution R126-2013.

Therefore, Let it be Resolved that the pressurized irrigation rates of Salina City shall be increased, effective January 28th, 2026, to $19.00 per month for each parcel not exceeding 0.25 of an acre plus $0.75 per each additional 0.25 of an acre or fraction thereof over the 0.25 acre base parcel.

PUBLICATION: This Resolution shall be published one (1) time in the Salina Sun but shall take effect January 28th, 2026, irrespective of the date of publication.
