On Saturday morning, North Sevier started off their cross country season off at the Freber Classic at Fremont High. The course ran a couple laps around the school and ended on the track. In the Varsity race, Kade Johnson ran a 17:29 5k split, leading the team toward the finish line. In the Junior Varsity race, Drew Johnson led the JV team, finishing at 19:40 split. After all runners were in, the North Sevier Wolves placed 14th overall in Varsity and 11th overall in Junior Varsity.
“The runners are working hard and putting in the extra miles,” said Coach Barry Smith. “We will be ready for our competition!”
The seniors running this year are Cinch Wanlass, Max Cowan, Will Chaston, Kade Johnson, Cruze Hallows, Jade Goble, Emmitt Nelson, and Kade Harward. Barry Smith and Jeff Wanlass are leading this team as coaches this season. Next week, they’re running at Spanish Fork on Saturday.
