Sevier County Republicans had a 46% voter turnout in the 2022 Primary Election held Tuesday, June 28 and incumbent Seat B County Commissioner Garth “Tooter” Ogden was beat out by Greg Jensen, 1,562 votes to 1,887. Third candidate, Edward R. Nielson, gained 438 votes in the contest according to unofficial results released by Sevier County.
County voters followed state trends with Mike Lee getting 3,213 Sevier votes for United States Senator, and Christ Stewart 3,431 votes for the U.S. House of Representatives District 2.
There are 8,363 registered voters eligible to vote in the election as Republicans in Sevier County this year with 3,913 total ballots cast. Numbers could slightly change as these are unofficial results.
