Stay Up to Date with the Interim Process

Our summer and fall Interim Process provides a unique opportunity for you to engage with the legislative process. This month’s meetings will be held on June 18th and 19th, and you can read a summary of May’s meetings at https://le.utah.gov/interim/2024/pdf/00002381.pdf.

Legislative meetings are open to the public and available to stream, live or after the fact at le.utah.gov. Come join us as we meet with policy experts, stakeholders, and community members to learn more about pressing issues in our state.

As your Representative, I want to hear about the things that matter to you, so I can craft meaningful legislation to best serve Rural Utah. If you have something you’d like to discuss further, please reach out.

Bright Economic Outlook For Utah

The Beehive State has one of the top economies in the country. Year over year, we maintain a bright economic outlook because of hardworking Utahns who aspire to grow and improve their communities. I am proud of the strong fiscal policies and conservative business practices that we have implemented within our state. Our sustainable long-term approach to tax cuts, consistently low unemployment rates, and investments in Utah’s future have helped ensure that even when the rest of the nation may struggle, our economy remains strong. Reliable. Affordable. Dispatchable Energy

As many states across the country face the consequences of their unsustainable energy policies in the form of rolling brownouts and blackouts, the Beehive State continues to enjoy reliable, affordable energy. Our all-of-the-above energy approach has led to the lowest average monthly energy bills in the country. As your Representative and Chair of Public Utilities and Energy Committee, I am committed to ensuring that our lights stay on and our energy costs remain low. Protecting Title IX

Last month, Utah joined Kansas, Alaska, and Wyoming in filing a lawsuit against the federal government fighting back against their new Title IX rule. Utah has and will continue to stand up for our girls and women. Watch the video found at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHp3akeVPqc&t=16s to learn more.

Don’t Forget to Vote

Utah’s Primary Election will take place on June 25, 2024. Your voice matters. To learn how to vote, track your ballot, or learn about candidates and issues, visit vote.utah.gov.

Stay Up to Date

Our House podcast is a great, fast way to get a behind-the-scenes look at what goes on at our State Capitol. Learn more about a wide range of topics, including what’s being done to safeguard our youth online, what the arrival of an NHL team will mean in our area and how the Legislature is protecting Utah’s future water resources.  You can listen to full episodes at: https://open.spotify.com/show/29iEqsEpMk05buAF2hgGvC.

July Holidays

Enjoy the 4th of July, our Independence Day.  Have a discussion with your kids and grandkids about the importance of this National holiday. Enjoy the 24th of July, where we celebrate the arrival of the Pioneers, our ancestors, into Utah. This would be another important history lesson for your family.

Fire Season

Please use extreme care with fireworks during July and also when you might be enjoying the great outdoors in Utah, camping, fishing, gathering wood, four-wheeling, etc.

Thank You

It’s an honor to represent you in the Utah House of Representatives.  I work hard to represent Rural Utah well and pass laws that will help with Agriculture, Economic Development, Mining, etc. I do not have a Primary Election opponent this year, but will have an opponent in the November General Election.  I ask for your support.

Please reach out to me with questions or concerns.

Thank you again.
