The NSHS Debate Club placed second at region and swept the Lincoln Douglas competition with Gracey Lambertsen taking 1st, Adrianna Dearden taking 2nd, and Tianna Easterday taking 3rd. Others placing at the event include: Combined Extemp – Adrianna Dearden 2nd Place, Caden Johnson 3rd Place; Combined Interp – Brittania Summarell 1st Place; Impromptu – Gracey Lambertsen 3rd Place; Congress – Kamden Saling 5th Place; and in Original Oratory – Raiden Johnson 2nd Place, Tianna Easterday 3rd Place. At the state competition the team placed fourth overall and Coach Tara Johnson said the team also had a lot of individual success. Adrianna Dearden took 2nd place in Lincoln Douglas, and Tianna Easterday and Gracey Lambertsen both made it to quarter finals. Raiden Johnson made it to the finals round in Original Oratory and took 4th place. Caden Johnson was a quarter finalist in Spar, Britannia Summarell made it to finals in the Interp round and took 5th. Kember Johnson took 7th. Kamden Saling was a finalist in Student Congress and Gracey Lambertsen made it to the finals round in Impromptu and took 6th overall.
