The 2025-26 school year has arrived! We at North Sevier High School are so excited to have our returning students back with us and cannot wait to meet our incoming students! We have undergone some big changes at the high school. Barry Smith, our longtime school counselor and coach, has moved to North Sevier Middle School as the assistant principal. We are so happy for Mr. Smith and the middle school!
Our new school counselor, Chey Lyman has lived in Aurora for several years, but she has been the counselor at South Sevier High. She is ecstatic at the chance of helping students in her own community. She is super fun, outgoing and loves her job as a high school counselor. Our students will love her!
We have several new coaches at North Sevier. Brady Wheeler is our new Head Football Coach. Spencer Brown has taken over for Coach Smith as the Head Wrestling Coach. Chad Mickelsen is our Head Boys Basketball Coach.
Our gym/locker room remodel has been all systems go the entire summer. We are still several weeks away from its completion, but the wait will be well worth it! We are so grateful to Superintendent Cade Douglas, Chad Lloyd (Business Administrator), and Jill Porter (School Board), all of whom have taken a special interest in making sure the finished product will be top notch. Please note, due to the construction, all home volleyball games will be played at the middle school.
A newly formed Booster Club Executive Committee has been meeting most of the summer, and they are itching to make this a year to remember! They will be selling North Sevier apparel, signs, stickers, flags, etc., raising money to support all of our students and their activities. You can become an individual Wolf Booster with a $40 payment. In addition to receiving a membership card, you will receive a hat or booster shirt as well as a free drink at home games.
We have two of the best secretaries in the Sevier School District. Jenny Henderson is in her third year as our finance secretary, and Kayce Hunter, our girls wrestling coach, is in her second year as our attendance secretary. We invite anyone who needs questions answered to come into the office. These ladies are always happy to help.
If you have not done so already, download the Binderly App and join North Sevier High School. Binderly will show announcements. It has links to nearly everything school related, including our calendar, bell schedule and Canvas. You will also be able to enjoy our school’s social feed which will highlight many of our memorable North Sevier moments.
Our football team plays Grand on Friday, the 15th. Please come support the team and enjoy some school spirit with our POW (Pack of Wolves)!
Welcome Back Students and Families!
We’re excited to welcome you back for another promising year with Sevier School District! The first day of school is always a favorite—it brings fresh energy, enthusiasm, and the hope of new beginnings.
Our dedicated teachers, principals, and support staff have worked diligently throughout the summer to prepare for your return. We are proud of the progress we’ve made and remain laser-focused on building upon our success and meeting our goals.
Several major facility upgrades are nearly complete, including:
- New locker rooms, seating, and improved air flow systems at South Sevier High and North Sevier High gymnasiums
- All 12 district schools now have enhanced secure entry systems for increased safety
- South Sevier High tennis courts were fully resurfaced
- Ashman Elementary, Pahvant Elementary, Salina Elementary and Red Hills Middle School have all received new carpet throughout
There’s no question that educators leave a lasting impact. I’ve often said I can name every one of my teachers from kindergarten through 12th grade—and I still recall many of my college professors with deep appreciation. Each one played a unique role in shaping my life, and I remember specific lessons that reach as far back as preschool.
That impact isn’t limited to teachers. Many support staff—like food service workers, bus drivers, and instructional assistants—also leave lasting impressions. These unsung heroes contribute to the safe, caring, and effective environments we depend on each day.
If someone from your school journey made a difference in your life, I encourage you to reach out. Drop in to say hello, send an email, give them a call, or connect on social media. A simple thank you can mean the world—and you’ll both walk away better for it.
At Sevier School District, strong communication with students, families, and the community is one of our top priorities. That’s why we’re excited to continue using Binderly in all of our schools this year.
The Binderly App is easy to access from any phone, computer, or device—and it’s not just for parents! Grandparents, guardians, and family friends can also stay informed. Please take a moment to download the app and sign up. Teachers, coaches, and staff will use Binderly as their primary tool to share messages and important updates.
We’re proud to live and work in one of the most supportive communities in the world. The opportunities available to our students—from preschool through 12th grade—are truly limitless.
Please visit www.seviersd.org to learn more about district programs, resources, and upcoming events.
With your continued support, we’re confident this will be our best year yet!
Cade Douglas, Ph.D.
Superintendent, Sevier School District
North Sevier Middle School is excited to kick off another school year! I am honored to begin my first year as Principal of this incredible school. The support from our students, their parents, and the community is truly incredible, and we are grateful for the trust you place in us to educate your children.
This year, we are thrilled to welcome two new team members. Barry Smith joins us as our new Assistant Principal/Counselor. With his extensive experience as a valued member of the North Sevier High School staff, our younger students will benefit from his expertise. We also extend a warm welcome to Scott Lyman, who joins our custodial team. Scott is a highly organized individual with a wealth of experience, and he will be a great addition to our school.
We’re also proud to have all of our dedicated teachers returning. Their passion for inspiring students is what makes North Sevier Middle School such a special place to learn.
We are so excited to get back to another great school year with our amazing students at Salina Elementary! We hope that everyone had an enjoyable and safe summer break, with lots of fun mixed in! However, we are also ready to get back to our students and help them as they continue to learn and grow!
Our teaching staff will remain the same this year, with the exception of Mrs. Mason, who retired. We have worked very hard to increase the amount of teachers we have across the school, and we feel blessed to be able to maintain that increased amount. By doing this, we have lowered class sizes significantly, and feel very fortunate to have the class sizes that we have. We truly have the best staff of any school I have ever seen and we are so lucky to have the people we have in our school. I want to personally thank each and every one of our teachers and staff for the hard work they do each and every day. They are tremendous people who genuinely care about children, and they show up every day because they love our students.
I also want to take this opportunity to encourage each of you to take time to thank a teacher or a staff member this school year. Our teachers have a very difficult job and just a simple thank you and a smile means the world to them. None of us are perfect here, and we will inevitably make mistakes from time to time. However, we appreciate your support and patience as we do the very best we can for your children. We also encourage you to partner with us and come and volunteer at our school. We know we can’t do it all by ourselves and we value having parents and family members in our school, helping us with all of the challenges we are up against! We also firmly believe that we have the best parents of any community and we so greatly appreciate each and every one of you.
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to stop by and visit with me. I am always here and am willing to do all that I can to help with any hardship you may be experiencing. We at Salina Elementary can’t wait to see you all again and we will be ready to go when school begins on August 14th for 1st – 5th grade and August 20th for Kindergarten!
