North Sevier Lady Wolves basketball hosted North Sanpete on Tuesday and came away with a win, then traveled to Piute to take on the Thunderbirds Thursday and took a loss.
The Lady Wolves took off and didn’t look back Tuesday against the Hawks, outscoring them 19-2 in the first quarter and leading 24-9 at the half and 41-28 to win the game.
Senior Gracee Johnson led the team in scoring with 12 points, Sydnie Henrie had 7, Alyssa Rosquist, Alli Mason and Brooklyn Butler each 6, Cale Torgerson 3 and Brooklin Goble 1.
Thursday’s game in Piute was a lower scoring first quarter with the Thunderbirds leading 7-3 at the end of the first, but an 18-point second quarter put Piute up 25-8 at the half, and the game ended 51-24 for them.
Junior Brooklyn Butler led in scoring with 12, Swayzee Mason had 5, Kamryn Pierce and Gracee Johnson each 3 and Trey Torgerson 1.
In their third game of the week the Lady Wolves traveled to South Sevier and lost to the Rams 22-50. The game started evenly matched with the first quarter ending 8-9 in favor of South Sevier, but North Sevier remained scoreless throughout the second quarter while the Rams racked up 18 points. South Sevier took the 50-22 win.
Kamryn Pierce led the team in scoring with 6, Brooklyn Butler added 5, Avery Smith and Sydnie Henrie each 3, Alli Mason and Brooklin Goble each 2, and Gracee Johnson 1.
This week the team will host Real Salt Lake Academy on Tuesday then participate in the 2A Central Girls Preview, playing Enterprise on Friday and Kanab on Saturday. North Sevier hosts Beaver on Tuesday, December 21 prior to Christmas break.
