Follow the yellow brick road in this delightful stage adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s beloved tale, featuring the iconic musical score from the MGM film. The Wizard of Oz is a timeless story in which young Dorothy Gale travels from Kansas over the rainbow to the magical Land of Oz, a journey that has continued to thrill audiences worldwide.
This year’s production is especially meaningful for North Sevier, as it brings together students from across the community. “The North Sevier community needs more opportunities for students to experience and enjoy theatre, so our NSHS Theatre presidency thought it would be fun to involve students from our elementary and middle schools as well,” said director Jaylynn Johnson. “I didn’t really think that we’d have so many show up, but I am so excited to see all these amazing kids on stage next week!”
With a talented high school cast joined by a delightful ensemble of elementary and middle school students, the stage will truly come alive with the magic of Munchkinland and the charm of Oz. This production is a testament to the creativity and community spirit of North Sevier, making it a show for the whole town to enjoy.
Dorothy will be played by Brittania Summarell, Toto by Max Cowan, Aunt Em by Libby Stevens, and Uncle Henry by Po Ogden. The Wizard of Oz is Cole Johnson, Glenda the Good Witch is Gracie Sorensen, and the Wicked Witch of the West is Abbie Losee.
