It was a hard fought, heartbreaking last second loss for the North Sevier Wolves football team Friday night against Enterprise 26-27.
Junior Kannin Boswell was first on the scoreboard for the night with a 17-yard run mid-way through the first quarter, but a minute later Enterprise answered with a TD of their own, ending the first quarter 7 all. Enterprise held North Sevier scoreless during the second quarter but scored a TD of their own with 7 seconds left in the half, leaving the game 14-7 at the break.
Senior Cauy Williams, on a 15-yard pass from QB Ryker Frischknecht, connected for a TD for the then Enterprise ran one in early in the fourth. North Sevier’s Williams scored again off a 58-yard pass from Boswell and Snyder, with 35 seconds left in the game scored to give the Wolves the 26-21 lead.
But, less than 15 seconds later Enterprise connected for a 72-yard touchdown for their last second victory.
Passing Boswell completed 1/1 for 58 yards and Frischknecht went 3/9 for 36 yards. Rushing Boswell led the team with 25 carries for 119 yards and Snyder went 14 for 82. Breken Mason had 6 carries for 47 yards, freshman James Crowley 3 for 4, Deagan Brazell 2 for 7, Tyler Foote 2 for 7, and Frischknecht was 1 for 1.
Cauy Williams led in receptions with 2 for 27 yards, with both resulting in touchdown points. Receiving, Breken Mason went 1 for 12 and Brazell 1 for 10.
Syyder and Aaron Gale led the team defensively with 11 total tackles each, Blaine Anderson earned 7, Drexton Olsen and Cauy Williams each 5, Boswell 4, Hunter Hansen 3, and both Frischknecht and Clayton Duckworth added 1.
Junior Seth Richens kicked 5 successful kickoffs for 163 yards and earned 2 PATs, and Brazell punted twice for a total of 64 yards.
This week the team will travel to Parowan to take on the Rams, and the following week they’re on the road again against the Kanab Cowboys. The final home game of the season is scheduled for Friday, October 15 against the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs.
