New Student Body Officers Announced at North Sevier Middle SchoolSalina Police Help Welcome Student Leaders

Excitement and school spirit filled the halls of North Sevier Middle School last Thursday as the newly elected student body officers were officially introduced in a special assembly—thanks in part to some unexpected, but very welcome guests.

The Salina City Police Department joined in the fun, helping to announce and escort the new student leaders in a surprise celebration that had students cheering and applauding. Officers walked alongside the student body winners, offering congratulations and adding a touch of official recognition to the event.

“We were honored to have the officers be a part of our announcement,” said school principal, Matthew Rhees. “It really made the moment more special for our students and showed them what leadership and community support look like.”

The newly elected student body officers for the 2025–2026 school year are Hadlee Piep,  Lyla Dahlsrud, Eliza Roberts, Maliyah Woodside, Paul Mecham, Ty Nelson, Stratton Hallows, Oakley Mickelsen, Josie Lund, Brooklynn Martin, Madisyn Wilkens, Braxtyn Olsen.

These students were chosen by their peers after preparing campaign speeches, participating in school activities, and sharing their goals for a better, more united school year. Each candidate worked hard to represent their fellow classmates and show their dedication to school pride, kindness, and leadership.

With the support of the student body, staff, and even the local police department, North Sevier Middle School is ready for a year filled with teamwork, school spirit, and positive leadership.
