Hoop Shoot

North Sevier Middle School held its annual Elk’s Hoop Shoot on November 9, 2023. Competitors shoot 25,000 shots for best of score. The boys 12-13 winner is Stratton Hallows, son of Jared and Dani Hallows. The boys 10–11 winner is Ledger Hallows, son of Kade and Heather Hallows.

The girls 12–13 winner is Reece Roper, daughter of Ryan and Cathy Roper. Dawsyn Harrison, daughter of Zak and Chelsea Harrison, won the 10–11-year-old division.

The Salina Elementary School winners are Zion Hallows, son of Brittany and Josh Hallows, Stella Russell, daughter of Scott and Erika Russell, Ellie Brinkerhoff, daughter of Mitch and Kassie Brinkerhoff , and Gavin Bagley, son of Kayla and Brodi Bagley.

The shooters then competed against other local schools on November 15 at North Sevier Middle School.

The Local Elk’s Hoop Shoot was held Wednesday, November 15 at North Sevier Middle School. School winners from Sevier, Wayne, and Piute counties competed in the foul shot competition. Winners include: (left to right)

Taylee Westwood ,8/9 year old girls division 13/25, daughter of Wade and Mekeisia Westwood of Circleville, Dawsyn Harrison, 10/11 year old girls division 18/25, daughter of Zak and Chelsea Harrison of Salina, Reece Roper, 12/13 year old girls division 16/25, daughter of Ryan and Cathy Roper of Aurora, Stratton Hallows, 12/13 year old boys division 22/25, son of Jared and Dani Hallows, Zion Hallows, 10/11 year old boys division 22/25, son of Josh and Brittany Hallows of Salina, Stockton Twitchell, 8/9 year old boys division 16/25, son of Bryce and Kristy Twitchell of Monroe.

These shooters will now advance to the Cedar City competition on December 9, 2023.
