Honoring a Legacy

The Junior Miss North Sevier Pageant will be held Friday,
May 10 at 7 pm at North Sevier High School.  Admission is $5 at the door.
There are six beautiful seventh and eighth grade girls competing in this year’s
competition. Paisley Hallows, Miss North Sevier 2024 is putting on the pageant
as part of her service to the community as Miss North Sevier.

Barrett’s have been the major contributor for the Miss North
Sevier Scholarship Pageant for decades. Keith and Vanessa Barrett, and most
recently Jim and Bonnie Erdei have generously donated thousands each year
to the royalty scholarships. Jim Erdei passed away recently, and his
funeral is on May 11. To honor Jim and Bonnie, donations will be collected at
the gate during the pageant.

“We wanted to find a way to give back. Jim fought a
valiant battle with Multiple Sclerosis, and so donating money to that
organization during the pageant seemed fitting,” said Miss North Sevier
Paisley Hallows. “At the door there will be an option to Venmo any amount
honoring Jim, or you can pay cash. We are so grateful for all Jim did for our
pageant.”

Mia Mickelsen, Jr. Miss North Sevier 2023 will be
relinquishing her title, and is the granddaughter of Jim and Bonnie Erdei. A
few weeks ago, the Miss North Sevier Royalty along with Mia were able to visit
Jim and perform their talents for him.
