              North Sevier girls’ basketball had a busy week as they hosted Real Salt Lake Academy on Tuesday, December 14 then participated in the 2A Central Girls Preview at the SVC over the weekend. In Tuesday’s blowout North Sevier’s Lady Wolves came out on top early, scoring 13 to the Griffins’ 7, and led throughout the game, winning easily 65-27.              Against Enterprise on Friday at the Sevier Valley Center, North Sevier took a 12-2 commanding lead at the end of the first quarter and didn’t look back, winning 48-24.

              Trey Torgerson was the high scorer for North Sevier with 12 points, Sydnie Henrie contributed 9, both Mila Torgerson and Brooklyn Butler 7, and Alyssa Rosquist 4.  Adding 2 points each were Kamryn Pierce, Swayzee Mason, Gracee Johnson, and Brooklin Goble.  Cale Torgerson had 1.

              The Lady Wolves versed the Kanab Cowboys Saturday night, who were 7-2 on the season, and lost in a tough 23-50 game.

              Trey Torgerson was again the high scorer with 6 points, Avery Smith had 5, Mila Torgerson and Brooklyn Butler each 4, Cale Torgerson 2, and Alyssa Rosquist and Gracee Johnson each 1.

              “It’s been crazy busy,” said Coach Lexa Larsen. “But the team is coming along.  We still have a ton of work to do defensively and our offensive needs refining and consistency.  We have a lot of depth and we’re still working on fitting all of the pieces together, but I am confident that it is going to come together, and we are going to compete with the best teams in 2A.”
              The team hosts Beaver on Tuesday, December 21 then travels to Manti after the Christmas break.
