Funny Guys to Perform in Gunnison

Funny Guys Who Do Tricks to perform at Casino Star Theatre; Comedic stuntman Marcus Wilson and magician Dan Paulus team up in Funny Guys Who Do Tricks show at the Casino Star Theatre on March 9th in Gunnison. Two Utah-based entertainers, juggling comic Marcus Wilson and magician Dan Paulus, perform a double-act show Funny Guys Who Do Tricks at Gunnison’s historic Casino Star Theatre on Thursday, March 9th at 7 pm. The two-man, family-friendly duo act features belly-aching comedy as well as gravity defying tricks! This will be the “Funny Guys” first appearance at the Casino Star Theatre and features Dan Paulus, an award-winning magician, and Marcus Wilson, a jocular juggler.

Dan Paulus has been performing sleight of hand, mind reading and escape tricks for over 30 years in the Beehive State. Paulus has served as an expert advisor for several national TV commercials, CBS evening specials, and the hit online game “Sims 3”.  Magic enthusiasts and up and coming magicians can find his tutorials online at Penguin Magic Productions. Paulus named “Utah’s Funniest Magician” specializes in providing great family events.

Marcus Wilson, born on April fool’s day, gravitated toward comedy from an early age and has performed in hit comedy clubs since 2000.  Marcus starting juggling in high school while working in a restaurant with rolls and oranges. He fell in love with what adults’ call “useless tricks” and “odd skills” and has entertained thousands with his unique stunts show across the Mountain West.  “Thrills, chills, and spills are usually reserved for the motocross track, but Marcus Wilson has brought them to the comedy stage.  Delighting audiences with an act that is half stand-up, half one-man circus – death defiance included.” says comic reviewer Jon Clark. 

Tickets for this family-friendly duo are available at the door for $10 per ticket.

The Casino Star Theatre has provided both cinematic and live entertainment to Gunnison Valley and its surrounding cities since 1913 and continues that tradition today as a non-profit organization dedicated to both the restoration of the historic building and its mission of bringing high quality arts and entertainment options to the communities of central Utah.

The Casino Star Theatre Live Performance spring season will finish with the Bulldog Benefit Concert featuring choirs from GVHS and Snow College on March 16th and the Utah Shakespeare Festival’s touring production of Every Brilliant Thing on April 15th.
