Throughout this summer, foster grandparents Jerrae Blake, David Blake and Bonnie Peterson have been bringing books for the children to read during the school lunch program.
“The program was a great success this year,” said Jerrae. “Participants read with us, then they get a prize. We’d especially like to thank the Hot Spot in Salina for donating an ice cream to our dedicated readers!”
Foster Grandparents volunteer at the schools or with youth groups. Thos aged 55 and older are invited to volunteer by contacting Maradee Peterson at 435-893-0735.
