North Sevier Wolves won a hard-fought battle against the Layton Christian Eagles Friday, September 3 on the road. The Eagles scored first early in the first quarter, but North Sevier answered back when Kannin Boswell ran in a 2-yard TD for the Wolves mid-second quarter and with the PAT good, they went into halftime up 7-6. Another six points for North Sevier in the third, and a safety in the fourth put North Sevier up 15-14. Layton Christian scored a late touchdown to make it a one-possession game, and then recovered the onside kick to set up the potential game winner, but the Wolves held on to the 15-14 win.
“It was a very tough football game. Both physically and mentally,” said Coach Wyatt Mason. “The boys did a really good job keeping their composure towards the end of the game when things started to get out of hand. I’m grateful to have such good young men on our team that are coachable and show good sportsmanship. I’m happy that we came out on top in such a difficult football game! Come join us next week on Sept 10th for our red, white and blue game against Monticello!”
Kickoff at 7:00 on the Wolves’ home field.
