Educators Rising is a new national CTSO (Career and Technical Student Organization) that directly supports the Teaching as a Profession Pathway. Students interested in the education profession can participate in teaching activities and learn about education related careers. Educators Rising is a community-based movement that provides Grow Your Own educators through the Teaching as a Profession Curriculum and supporting student activities. With a presence in all 50 states, chapters are provided classroom resources along with the opportunity to attend the State and National Conferences where members, teacher leaders, and educators from around our state and nation come together to showcase the skills they have gained in their education and training programs.
Educators Rising is represented in all 50 states and was only represented along the Wasatch Front in Utah until students from North Sevier High School started their chapter in 2021. In 2022 North Sevier high school competed and qualified to attend the national conference in Washington DC and had two students from North Sevier High school elected as State officers to represent the entire southern part of Utah. The North Sevier chapter has continued to be represented at the state level each year and have students qualify to attend the national conference. The students have enjoyed the opportunity to observe teachers at work in the elementary and middle school settings and participated in a National Read for the Record Day at the elementary. They’ve also participated in Fall Leadership and other educational and fun activities.
“We took the opportunity to compete at our State Leadership Conference and competition on February 28th, with 5 students competing,” said Advisor Coylene Brinkerhoff. “Student events are competitive and build skills related to building our future educators. The members work together to compete at the state and national level and are recognized for proficiency and achievement.”

Bobbi Jo Perfect (Sophomore) in Interactive Bulletin Board, Audrey Duckworth (Sophomore) in Children’s Literature, Macie Bosshardt (Junior) in Children’s Literature and Jake, Macie and Brek Christiansen (Sophomore) competing in Ethical Dilemma. The team of Jake, Macie and Brek qualified to represent North Sevier High School at the National Conference and Competition in Washington DC this summer.
Educators Rising has State Officers that choose a theme and plan the activities and conferences for the coming year for the chapters throughout the state. The officers will represent the CTSO at events throughout the state as they work to build the Educators Rising program and bring it to all areas of the state, as well as work with other CTSOs to bring leadership and continuity throughout the state.
“Once again our school will be represented at the state level with Macie Bosshardt being elected as a State Officer for Educators Rising, heading a team to work with southern Utah building relationships, strengthening leadership skills and preparing to become our future leaders and educators,” said Brinkerhoff. “We hope to make more memories in the coming year and want to encourage and welcome the new members coming in to bring new ideas and enjoy their experience in Educators Rising.”
