Double meet week for runners

North Sevier Cross County traveled to two races this past week, Beaver on Wednesday and Cedar City on Saturday. “Beaver was a hard course and a hot race, but we got to see how we compare to the competition in the other region which was good for us to see. Our boys team placed first overall!” said Coach Avery Smith. Top finishers for the boys were Emmitt Nelson 2nd, Lincoln Hallows, 4th, Kade Johnson 10th, Cynch Wanlass 11th, Caden Johnson12th, and Jade Goble 13th

              For the girls, Linzy Perfect placed 5th and Zoey Rhees 6th.

              The junior high team also competed with Ledger Hallows finishing 1st, Kale Hallows 2nd, and Drew Johnson 5th.

              On Saturday 19 North Sevier runners set new personal records!

              “We worked hard this week and it’s good to see it pay off. Hoping to keep the momentum going!” said Smith.

              Top finishers for the boys were Cruze Hallows 10th,15:59, Lincoln Hallows 23rd,16:30, Emmitt Nelson 29th,16:41, and Kade Johnson 17:02. Their race was out of 79 runners.

              For the girls, Zoey Rhees was North Sevier’s top runner coming in with a 22:37 time and Linzy Perfect at 22:49.

              This week the team competes in San Juan for a pre-region meet Wednesday.
