The North Sevier Wrestling Team competed against South Sevier for the Battle of the Ax, which South Sevier has had for the last three years. After many hard weights, North Sevier came on top with a score of 48-36, winning the ax back. The next day the wrestlers went to Parowan and had a clean sweep win against the Rams, 56-18, which fueled the boys into their two-day tournament in Juab over the weekend. Both JV and Varsity battled hard and competed well.
The Girls Wrestling Team had a one-day tournament in Parowan on Friday. Tiphaine Marty brought home a fourth-place medal and was the only girl representing North Sevier.
“I think our wrestling team continues to see improvement,” said Coach Ross Taylor. “It was good to match up against some high-quality teams this weekend to see what areas we need to work on. We recorded victories over South Sevier, Gunnison, and Monticello. I’m excited to get back in the room and go to work.”
