The North Sevier High School Booster Club is entering its second year with growing community support and a continued focus on creating opportunities for students throughout the school. Booster Club President Heather Hallows said the organization hopes to build on the momentum established during its first year while supporting the many programs, clubs and activities that contribute to the student experience at North Sevier.
“Our focus is on supporting the programs and activities that give students opportunities to grow, compete, connect and achieve,” Hallows said. “At the same time, we want to strengthen the pride and traditions that make North Sevier such a special place.”
The Booster Club is made up of volunteers with a variety of connections to North Sevier, including parents, alumni, families of graduates and longtime school supporters. Hallows said those different perspectives are valuable as the organization considers how it can best serve students.
“We may all have different connections to North Sevier, but we share the same pride in our school and commitment to its students,” she said. “Our goal is to make thoughtful decisions that create opportunities for all North Sevier students.”
Hallows emphasized that transparency and responsible stewardship are priorities for the organization. Money raised through the Booster Club is used to benefit NSHS students, programs, clubs and activities.
“We want our community to know that their generosity goes directly toward creating meaningful opportunities and experiences for our students,” Hallows said.
Annual Booster Club sponsorship letters have recently been sent to area businesses. Businesses that did not receive a letter but would like to participate are encouraged to contact North Sevier High School for additional information.
Community members can also support the organization through an annual Booster Club membership. Memberships are $40 and include a North Sevier Booster Club shirt or hat, as well as a free drink at each home football, volleyball and basketball game throughout the school year.
Hallows said membership is also a simple way for community members to show their support for the school and its students.
“When we invest in our students, we invest in the future of North Sevier,” she said. “We want to continue building a community where school pride runs deep, our community stands behind our students, and every student has opportunities to grow and achieve.”
The Booster Club welcomes questions, ideas and suggestions from community members as it continues working to strengthen its support of North Sevier High School and the Wolves.
