In February 1979, the Aurora wards of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was split to be known as the Aurora 1st Ward and the Aurora 2nd Ward. Clifton F. Taylor was ordained the first bishop of the 2nd Ward. On June 21, 2026, a photo was taken of each of the bishops since that time until current including (pictured left to right: Clifton Taylor, Stuart Johnson, Mel Yardley, Bob Bagley, Boyd Jewkes, Scott Johnson, Ferald Mason, Kerry Sorenson, Hal Jensen, and Weston Mason. The first bishopric of the Aurora 2nd Ward included, front left: Stanley Foote (1st Counselor), Bishop Clifton Taylor, Stewart Johnson (2nd Counselor).
