Aesthetics

Channing Hallows, owner of Branded Aesthetics located at 315 West Main Street, Salina, became a certified aesthetician after graduating from the Skin Science Institute in Orem four years ago.  She said faces and skin have always intrigued her, but she didn’t love doing facials, as she is more of an outgoing person and enjoys talking and interacting with her clients. Permanent make up captivated her attention and she began by becoming certified in microblading, then in lip lush, eye liner and fine line tattoos, and most recently in piercings.

“I wanted a location that could focus on the aesthetic and beauty industry, but not necessarily tied with a hair salon, so when this building became available, we jumped on it,” she said. “It is just what I had envisioned.”

In the beauty shop not only does Hallows work her magic, but she also shares the space with Morgan Gurney (So Basic Clothing), Genrty Cherry (Cherry Inked), and Kalista Honeycutt (Honeymoon Aesthetics).

In addition, Hallows has become an instructor for lip blush, eye liner, and microblading, and has several student beds where she uses her knowledge and skills to change the outlook of the industry in a positive manner.

“You hear these horror stories of blotched brows and the first thing I say to my clients is that I will not send them out of here with angry bird brows,” she said. “I feel the industry is becoming flooded with poor teachers and it makes me worry.  I want to better things by teaching others what I know.”

Not only is she looking to better the profession and enhance the confidence of her clients, but another of her goals in opening Branded Aesthetics was to upgrade the look of Salina’s Main Street.

“There have been three different fast-food restaurants in this building, as well as an insurance office and a quilt shop, but we’ve put a lot of work into it, inside and out,” said Hallows. “From the drywall and mud, to plumbing, new floors, and painting inside to the new awning and stucco outside, the building has done a major transformation and I’m proud to be a part in revitalizing our city.”

She wants to leave her mark on the community and give clients, and passers-by, a smile and hopefully even a boost of confidence.   Gift cards are always available, and her holiday special is $150 off any PMU service booked between Black Friday and December 15. She can be reached at 435-979-7170 or on social media.
