Sherman K. Christensen

Sherman Kay Christensen, 82, passed away Sunday, June 25, 2023 in Gunnison.  
He was born January 6, 1941 in Redmond to Clifford Elmer and Fern Ludean Johnson Christensen.  
He grew up in Redmond with his four sisters, Fern, LaPreal, Shirleen and Marilyn.  He helped his dad with the family farm., loved being outdoors and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and working with the Scouts.
When out of town family came to visit, there was always a drive in the mountains or a camping trip involved.
He loved cooking in his Dutch oven and provided many hearty meals for the Boy Scouts.  He served in the U.S. Air Force and was a truck driver for a variety of companies for many years.  He was the Dam Master at Piute Reservoir and enjoyed roughing it in his huge garden.
The family extends their thanks for all of those who have taken care of him.  
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; five children; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters.  He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Douglas Eugene Christensen; sisters: Fern and LaPreal.
