1953 – 2021

Centerfield, Utah – Robert Taylor Bown passed away October 2, 2021 at his home in Centerfield.  He was born June 3, 1953 in Gunnison, a son of Robert Claire and Frances Faye Taylor Bown.

He grew up in Centerfield and graduated from Gunnison Valley High School, Class of 1971.  He attended a Trade Tech School for 1 year with a scholarship in Art.

Robert served his country and received an Honorary Discharge from the United States Army.

He is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Rob was kind hearted, a good listener and good at giving quality advice.  He had a love for all animals, ie goats, cattle, cats and dogs.  He enjoyed going to the auction, shooting, camping, hunting and fishing.  He enjoyed teaching lessons he learned from hard farm work and he loved scary movies.

Rob is survived by his children: Robert Spencer Bown, Douglas Ira Bown, Candice Marie Bown, all of Murray; Dustin Gardner of Willard and Danny Bown of Phoenix, Arizona; 3 grandchildren; siblings: Kenton Taylor Bown of Midvale; Mary Lou Maes of Richfield; Rachel Ellen Nielson of Centerfield; step-siblings: Connie Eldridge of California; Blaine Nielson and Michael Nielson, both of Centerfield.

He is preceded in death by his father, Robert Claire Bown; his mother, Frances Faye Taylor Bown Nielson and his step-father, Ira J. Nielson.

Graveside services with military honors accorded by the Centerfield American Legion Post #105 and the Utah Honor Guard will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Centerfield Cemetery under the care of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
