Parker Alexander Thornton, 75, passed away November, 23, 2021 at his home in Salina.  He was born on June 24, 1946 in Murray, Utah to Mayo Gardner and Florence Pearl Nielson Thornton.  He married Lorre Ann Opfar on June 21, 1980 in Pleasant Grove, Utah. The marriage was solemnized on June 20, 1992 in the Manti Temple.
Parker was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He loved his family with a belief that we will be together again. He loved the open road, the scenery and the people he met during his 50 years career as a truck driver. He enjoyed talking trucks, politics and grounding his grandchildren.
Survived by his wife, Lorre; children: Aaron (Jennifer) Thornton, Eagle Mountain; Melissa (Jed) Maxwell, Salina; grandchildren: Skyly, Ethan, Riken, Little Parker; siblings: Katherine (Richard) Pirano, CA; Zachary (Carol) Thornton, CO; Jack (Sylvia) Thornton, CO; Lisa (David) Case, OR; and his little dog, Precious.
Preceded in death by his parents; son, Matthew; siblings: Rodney, Kirk, Wallace, and Susan Thornton.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel in Richfield, where friends may call from 9:00 -10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
