Edward Mark Mitchell passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at the age of 87. He was born to Harlan Edward and Genevieve Juanita Dalton Mitchell on November 3, 1937 in Bakersfield, CA. His father Harlan passed away when Mark was a young boy and he was raised by his mother and various family members.
In 1954, on his 17th birthday, Mark joined the Air Force and served in Europe as a radar technician. He lived in various countries including: Spain, France, Germany and North Africa.
Mark married Karen Linda Ross from Burbank, CA on January 2, 1960. They were blessed with three children: Lisa Ann, Kelly Dian and Mark Ross. Mark attended the police academy and worked for the LAPD for 20 years until he retired in 1984.  Mark and Karen enjoyed living on the Oregon coast and Las Vegas before moving to the Sevier Valley in 1998. Salina became his final and favorite home.
He loved animals, gardening, and his family. He was proud of and grateful for his family and is survived by his wife, Karen; children: Lisa (Richard) Cizmas, Kelly (Mark) Lineback, and Ross Mitchell; 9 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. in the Magleby Mortuary Chapel. Viewing that day at the mortuary from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Elsinore City Cemetery.  Funeral Directors: Magleby Mortuary, Richfield, Salina and Manti.
