Salina, Utah – Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and neighbor, LaVina  McBroon Horne, age 75, passed away unexpectedly on April 6, 2021, at her home in Salina. LaVina was born in Ferron, Utah on May 8, 1945, to Allen and Lucile Akelund McBroon. She grew up in Emery and graduated from Emery High with the class of 1963. After school she and her twin sister Sam left home and moved to Salina to work at the turkey plant. Salina became her lifelong home and was where she raised her two boys, Gaden and Richard. LaVina worked throughout her life and especially enjoyed working with the ladies at the Producers Auction Cafe. She loved her siblings and was especially close to her twin sister. She liked to visit her in St. George and enjoyed their shopping trips together.

LaVina loved her family very much. She loved her grandkids and was a good grandma. She spoiled them thoroughly on birthdays and holidays and enjoyed seeing them and being with them. By all who knew her, she will be missed.
