LaMar McBride Jr.
Aurora/St. George, Utah

LaMar McBride Jr., 73, of Aurora and St. George, passed away on February 9, 2024, in Richfield. LaMar was born August 22, 1950, in Richfield to LaMar and Ileen McBride. He was the second of five children.
LaMar McBride was raised in Richfield and graduated from Richfield High School where he met and married Kristine Smith. They were sealed together on June 5, 1970, in the Manti, Utah Temple. They lived most of their lives in Aurora where they raised their family.
LaMar faithfully served in many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a special love for scouting.  LaMar’s career included working as a coal miner and retiring from Pepsi as a Sales Manager, allowing Kris to be a stay-at-home mom, which was very important to him.  LaMar and Kris loved raising their children in Aurora but spent the last 10 years in St. George. LaMar’s favorite activity was being papa to his grandchildren.   LaMar loved his family and spending time with them. He loved seeing his grandchildren and hearing about each of their successes and adventures. He enjoyed attending their many events when he was able.
He is survived by his five children: Ben (Tempy) McBride, Maradee (Steven) Peterson, Brayden (Cassy) McBride, Megan (Anthony) Sampson, Bronson (Tara) McBride. He had the privilege of being “Papa” to 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings: Louise Bott, Sally Ann Gates, and Michelle Nielson.
LaMar is preceded in death by his wife, Kristine McBride; parents LaMar and Ileen McBride; brother, Roy Lee McBride; and grandson, Max Sampson, who he is excited to take fishing.
