Jay Christensen

With gratitude for a life of faith and service, our beloved father, devoted husband, loving father, and grandfather, Jay Leo Christensen, passed away surrounded by family in Aurora, Utah, on February 11, 2026, just one day after his and mom’s wedding anniversary. Jay was born on July 6, 1924. He was 101 years old. A devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jay lived a life centered on the gospel, serving in many capacities, including righteous father, grandfather, many missions, stake presidency, bishop, high council, stake mission, elders quorum, and many others. He was a World War II veteran who served in the US Navy as a medic in the Pacific. He served as mayor of Redmond, president of two irrigation companies, and Utah State Market reporter. He was an example of service and love. He was a life-long cattleman. He is now with his eternal companion, Doris, and is survived by his children, Louise (Allen) Jensen, Dale (Colleen) Christensen, Keith (Clareen) Christensen, Carol Lee (Scott) Johnson, Kathy (Mark) Kimball, and 111 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Of course, we will miss our wonderful Dad and Mom, but we rejoice in their righteous, faithful lives and the legacy of peace, prosperity, and happiness that they, through the gospel of Jesus Christ, left us.

We express gratitude to At Home Hospice, Vicky, Mandy, Heather, Bo, and Annie, who lovingly attended to his needs.
