Janice F. Mickelsen
Our beloved nana, Janice Fay Anderson Mickelsen, 76, Redmond passed away May 18, 2024 in Gunnison. She was born May 23, 1947 in Salina, to Kirk Weston and Laura Fay Johnson Anderson. She married Steven G. Mickelsen, December 2, 1971 at the Old Church in Redmond. He preceded her in death, December 24, 2010.
She worked at the Salina Turkey Plant for several years. Her family was important to her and she loved to spend time with them. They always had a great time riding out at Jericho on wheelers, her’s was a 3 wheeler named Big Red – with a bright red velvet seat.
After her sons moved to St. George, when the family went out to play at Green Springs, she always drove the golf cart, cheering and hollering all along the way.
There were many favorite memories with the grands and great-grand. Her finest role was being the Ultimate “Nana” with each one.
Her surviving family includes two sons: Justin (Mary) Mickelsen, Redmond; their children: Jacely and Dahlton; and a great-grandson, “ Lil Ridgey” (her whole world); son, Cody (Bridget) Mickelsen, Salina; their children: McQuade and McKira; and a sister-in-law: Deb Anderson.
In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Lynn “Wally” Anderson and Don Anderson.
The family extends their appreciation to the staff at Gunnison Valley Hospital for their love and care of our mother.
Cremation services will be held at the Magleby Mortuary Cremation Center. A family Celebration of Life will take place at a later time.
