Charlotte Hatch

1947 – 2022

Salina, Utah – Charlotte Van Tassell Hatch, age 74, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022 at her home in Salina.  She was born on October 18, 1947, a daughter of Gail and Elva Van Tassell in Roosevelt, Utah.

Charlotte married Steven Lynn Hatch June 9, 1970.  They were sealed for time and all eternity in the St. George Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Together they raised 6 children.

Charlotte enjoyed engaging in creative activities and sharing her talents with family and friends.  She happily made Halloween costumes, blessing dresses, receiving blankets, and making sure the hems of everyone’s pants were just the right length.  She enjoyed cross stitching and intricately painting ceramics.  No one can resist her caramels, cheesecake, suckers, or Christmas dessert.  Charlotte enjoyed getting her family together and created many wonderful traditions with them. The highlights are, family campouts to Fishlake, making Christmas candy, and making individualized blessing dresses for every daughter, granddaughter, and great-granddaughter.

She is survived by her husband, Steven; children: Troy Hatch (Shelley), Trina Morford (Andrew), Steven Hatch (Heather), Stephanie Jones (Daron), Brett Hatch (Mandi Thornton), and Bonnie Hatch.  She enjoyed spending time with her 19 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by her siblings: Shauna Smith, Sylvia Ann Bradshaw, Dee Van Tassell, and Annette Sorensen.

She is preceded in death by her father, Gail; mother, Elva; sister, a Gaylene; and a granddaughter, Elena.

The family would like to thank the Salina City Police Department, EMS, and Intermountain Hospice for assisting in Charlotte’s care.
